Our roastery was first established back in 1982, producing high-quality freshly roasted coffee to businesses and consumers across the Isle of Wight and Hampshire but also as far away as the USA.
Our carefully crafted roast coffee embodies the spirit of manufacturing and innovation in production. Supported by a commitment to not only sustainable practices but also progression in the art of coffee creation.
We recently invested £100,000 to develop this into a state-of-the-art Coffee Roasting and Training Centre. This new facility providing two state-of-the-art roasting rooms, one hybrid and one which houses the latest all electric coffee roaster, both powered from the 77 solar panels installed on the roof of our offices, production and warehouse complex. These same panels also charging our all-electric vans that deliver freshly roasted coffee to our customers.
This investment and a skill as craftsmen honed over 20 years enables us to produce 200,000 1Kg bags of roasted coffee each year, enough to provide 28,571,428 shots of espresso. Including specialist and seasonal roasts not available from other producers. Meeting the rapidly increasing demand for our coffee across the hospitality sector and delicatessens through to Morrisons where we appear in a number of stores in addition to our coffee being served on all Red Funnel Ferries and at the Isle of Wight Festival to VIP guests.
We are also experiencing significant demand online with coffee being send as far away as Florida in the United States. Success that has seen production rise from 3.74 tonnes in 2021 to 15 today.
Behind this lies our ethical standards, with all coffee beans FairTrade sourced, providing high quality single origin Arabica beans from Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Congo and India. Something that provides any customer with the choice of bean origin and roast profile that best suits them and their customers, flexibility of choice and craftsmanship not afforded to them by others.
Our methods and standards of production are confirmed by SALSA Accreditation and being a leading member of the British Coffee Association (BCA).
At Island Tea & Coffee Co we provide an exceptionally high-quality product from bean to cup and attention to detail that confirms excellence in we do. With an approach that reflects that art of coffee and puts the customer first. We welcome visits to our Roasting Centre, with appointments easily made by calling us on 01983 721100 so you can see all of this for yourself.
